I really want to play with a Zangband Borg, now, and see what I can make it do. (Zangband, for those who don't know, is a Rogue-like game; an rpg-like thing where you create a character, and maneuver him through an ascii dungeon attempting to kill monsters and level up until you can defeat the boss at the very bottom of the dungeon. It's a lot of fun. Borg, in this case, means an AI program that plays the game for you.) It seems like it'd be a lot of fun to just watch the Borg run around and do all the tedious work, and leave the strategic decisions to me. Further updates follow: - After multiple attempts (four, specifically), I have succeeded in creating an Amberite paladin (Benedict) who doesn't die attempting to fight off battle-scarred veterans at lvl 1. - Apparently, the Light spell gives Benedict a mandate to 'light the whole dungeon.' This is something that _I'd_ never attempt, but a lack of patience to exahaust means that the Borg feels this is just fine. - And now he's dead, at lvl 7, to a pack of grey rats. The Borg just doesn't handle breeders well, it seems. Tags: angband
